The Paper Mills Valley was, after Fabriano's, the second paper plant in Italy. Already active in the early XIII century, Toscolano Paper Mills had in the past times, a quick development due to their capability to meet the requirements of the printworks in Venice and the Garda area itself. The Hermitage rises at av. 700 meters above sea level, on the slopes of Mount Comer.
